Instructions for App Icon Frames on the Iphone.

In this folder are the frame .png's that can be used to frame all the apps I have not framed already.
In this way you can either choose to make every app in one frame or have each different category of App
in a different frame like I prefer. These .png's will show a transparent background inside Photoshop or
other more advanced image editing program.

Step 1: Find your Apps package location in your iPhone.

- You'll need Ifile or another program that can look at your iPhone's file system, such as winsch for
your Windows PC. You will also need to have OpenSSH installed on your iPhone.

-It's a good idea to change the default password OpenSSH uses for your root directory with a App like
Terminal (If you need instructions for this look on Cydia or google there are TONS of Great Instructions
with photos to help you.).

- App packages are generally located in one of the following places:

/var/mobile/Applications/ (usually Cydia Apps)

/var/stash/Application.random letters/ (unique to your iPhone)
(These are typically stock iPhone apps and more complex Cydia apps like PerPage)

Step 2: Look for a file called info.plist.

Step 3: Open this file in Ifile or copy it to your PCs desktop and use a program to read the .plist
(search google for a free one, theres tons).

Step 4: Look for <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>. The next line contains the name for the folder we
will later create and will look similar to <string>com.NameOfCompany.NameOfApp</string>. Write down
this second line the part within the <string> </string>.

Step 5: Find your packages icon. While inside the info.plist file look for a line labeled,
<key>CFBundelIconFiles</key>. The names after this will be the Icon files name. There will usually
be several listed, @2x.png and name-114.png are used for retina devices and .png and name-57.png are
used for non-retina devices. Write down the file names used for your device next to the place you wrote
down the folder name of the package. (Sometimes the <key>CFBundelIconFiles</key> wont be in a .plist
in this case you must search the package itself for an image file name along the lines of Icon@2x.png ,
icon.png, icon-57.png, etc make sure you look for the file that is for YOUR iDevice!!!) Next copy this
file onto your PCs desktop, or send it to yourself through e-mail in Ifile.

Step 6: Go to your Winterboard themes location (/var/stash/Themes.random letters/ (unquie to your iPhone)
and inside your Bundles folder create a new folder with the name that you wrote down from Step 3.

Step 7: Make your image. Use the frame (appropriate to your device [retina or non-retina]) and the image
you extracted in Step 5 to make your New App icon image. Name the file the name your wrote down in Step 5.
DO NOT CHANGE THE FRAME PIXEL SIZE!!!

Step 8: Go inside the folder you create in Step 6 and copy the file to this location. (Using a program
like winsch you just drag and drop, using Ifile you must download the image to your iDevice [you can send
it to yourself in another e-mail then download the image into Ifile from your e-mail (Ifiles downloaded
files go to /var/mobile/Documents/ .)])

Step 9: Go to /var/mobile/Library/Caches and delete com.apple.IconsCache . DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER FILE.
Note that this file will rebuild itself upon respring or reboot.

Step 10: Go to the winterboard settings and then dis-arm, respring, re-arm, respring.

Your new Icon should show!!!! Note that Steps 9 & 10 can make multiple images youve changed show at once,
so you can change many icons then do steps 9 & 10 once.

NOTE: To remove "Icon Gloss" (The lighting effect on icons), go into the info.plist for the application under
/var/mobile/Applications (Then find your application by looking into each seemingly random naming of the folders to
find the application your looking for.). At the bottom before,

"</dict>
</plist>"

writing which should be very last in the info.plist. Before that write,

"<key>UIPrerenderedIcon</key>
<true/."

Without quotes of course and with that exact spacing, as far as amount on each line, then unequip the winterboard
theme, respring, re-equip the winterboard theme, and respring again!
